Objective: Electrosurgery is used in almost all surgeries. The entire surgical team working these operating rooms exposed to smoke. In the literature, there no study examining direct effect of smoke on room staff and involving sampling. This aimed examine air quality due Material Methods: descriptive was conducted August 2018 department general surgery a university hospital. Air samples were taken from different parts during surgery, levels volatile organic compounds breathing zone measured. Results: Volatile not detected surgery. measured well below limits that could affect human health. Levels some above limit. Benzene resident, scrub nurse, circulating nurse support normal limit, chloroform level Conclusion: health care professionals It recommended establish protocol for protection take necessary measures.
